The Inca Trail in August is one of the best times to hike Machu Picchu, thanks to the sunny days we receive in the dry season.     DAY 1: CUSCO – PISKACUCHO – WAYLLABAMBA

    At the crack of dawn, our expedition embarks on the illustrious Classic Inca Trail. The sun barely peeks over the horizon as our dedicated guides and skilled driver make their way to your accommodation, ready to escort you to the Ollantaytambo train station. A brief pause allows for any final preparations, acquiring any essential gear or personal items before our journey begins. Setting our sights on Piskacucho (Km 82), the starting point of our adventure, the group eagerly strides forward. After approximately three hours, we reach our inaugural Inca site, Patallaqta, unveiling the awe-inspiring remnants of an ancient civilization. Continuing onwards, a leisurely 30-minute stroll leads us to “Tarayoc,” our chosen haven for a replenishing midday reprieve. Energized and invigorated, we undertake a steady ascent for approximately two hours, embarking towards our inaugural campsite, nestled within the captivating village of Huayllabamba.

    The Inca Trailto Machu Picchu Day 2

    DAY 2: HUAYLLABAMBA – WARMIWAÑUSCA – PAQAYMAYU

    As the sun graces the second day of our remarkable journey along the Classic Inca Trail, we indulge in a nourishing breakfast, ensuring our bodies are fortified for the adventure that lies ahead. Our devoted porters, always mindful of our sustenance, provide us with a selection of delectable snacks for the hike. With spirits high, we commence our ascent, steadily climbing for approximately five hours towards the crowning glory of the Inca Trail, the majestic Warmihuañusca Pass, perched at a breathtaking altitude of 4215 meters above sea level. Pausing briefly to capture the awe-inspiring landscapes through the lens of our cameras, we bask in the glory of nature’s masterpiece. Our descent follows, a graceful journey of approximately one and a half hours, leading us to the Paqaymayu campsite, where we gather to savor a sumptuous lunch, followed by a satisfying dinner and a well-earned respite to rejuvenate body and soul..

    DAY 3: PAQAYMAYU – CHAQ´ICOCHA – WIÑAYWAYNA

    After savoring a delectable breakfast, our path unfolds before us, leading us on an enchanting journey. With anticipation in our hearts, we venture forth for about an hour, discovering the captivating Runkuraqay archaeological site, followed by an additional hour that carries us to the mystical Runruraqay Pass. Descending gracefully for approximately one hour, we immerse ourselves in the ancient allure of the Sayaqmarka archaeological site. A short 30-minute jaunt ushers us into the welcoming embrace of the Chaquiqocha campsite, where a well-deserved lunch awaits. Energized, we press on, trekking for about an hour and a half to the mesmerizing Phuyupatamarka Inka site, intertwined with the allure of the next Pass. As the day gently unfolds, we embark on a three-hour descent, embracing the sacred grounds of the Wiñaywayna Inka site, where we find solace and serenity, cherishing every fleeting moment as we settle in for our final night on this magnificent Trail.

    Inca Trail Day 5 MAchu Picchu Tour

    DAY 4: WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

    Rising early and fueled by breakfast, our group begins the final leg of the trek. After a two-hour hike, we arrive at the renowned Inca Sun Gate, “Inti Punku,” granting us our first glimpse of Machu Picchu. Descending to the entrance, we register and embark on a 2 ½ hour guided tour of the sanctuary. Afterwards, free time allows for independent exploration. Around noon, we take a shuttle to Aguas Calientes and board the train back to Cusco..
