The one-day tour of Machu Picchu begins with an early morning pick-up from your Cusco hotel, ensuring ample time to reach the charming Ollantaytambo train station. From there, you’ll enjoy a scenic train ride through the breathtaking Urubamba Valley, offering spectacular views of the Andes and lush landscapes. Upon arrival in the quaint town of Aguas Calientes, a comfortable shuttle will whisk you up to the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu. Here, you’ll be guided through its awe-inspiring ruins on an expert-led tour, uncovering the history and mysteries of this ancient wonder.
We begin this Express Tour to Machu Picchu by having our driver and guides pick you up at your hotel! We then drive an hour and a half to the Ollantaytambo train station, located in the Urubamba Valley.
We hop on the train to Aguas Calientes. The pleasant ride takes us through the Urubamba Valley of the Incas. Enjoy the spectacular views of the Peruvian highland as it changes into the lush cloud forest at the foot of Machu Picchu. The ride to Aguas Calientes is considered one of the most beautiful train rides on earth, so take plenty of photographs of the surrounding picturesque landscapes.
We’ll arrive at the small town of Aguas Calientes and wait to be escorted through the tiny streets until we reach our bus, which will take us to Machu Picchu. The shuttle will take approximately 25 minutes to get to the city of Inca on this Machu Picchu express tour. The ride up to Machu Picchu is a tour on its own, thanks to the fantastic views of the surrounding lush, green mountainous region. The winding roads provide various options for photography.
Upon arrival, you’ll witness the ancient Inca citadel, a mystical location hidden for hundreds of years. Then, your professional tour guide will take you around Machu Picchu’s most important sights. The guided experience will take 1.5-2 hours to complete, and your guide will answer any questions about the city.
